On October 8 and 9, 2026, the CYBE Collaborative participated in the in-person meeting of the PROTECT-CHILD consortium, held in Belgrade. Over the course of the two-day meeting, the partners reviewed the project’s progress and coordinated priorities for the coming months regarding the clinical study, data infrastructure, genomic and methylomic analysis, technical integration, and the involvement of various stakeholder groups.
From the University of Granada, our team contributes to monitoring the project’s ethical and governance aspects and to coordinating the External Ethics Advisory Committee. In Belgrade, we presented the recommendations formulated by this committee on issues related to delays in recruitment, genomic findings, and participants’ transition to adulthood, in addition to participating in discussions on the safe and responsible use of health data among European centers.
